The premiere of the fifth season of Fargo, which was shot north of Airdrie will be available to stream on Hulu on November 21.

The fifth installment of the T.V. series created by Noah Hawley is based on the Oscar-winning 1996 movie of the same name. It was filmed in Beiseker, Didsbury, as well as High River.

The fifth season will feature stars such as Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Joe Keery (Stranger Things), Lamorne Morris (Game Night), Richa Moorjani (Never Have I Ever) and Emmy nominee Juno Temple (Ted Lasso).

The series dubbed a black comedy, follows an anthology format, with each season introducing new characters and new settings.

"Various chronicles of deception, intrigue, and murder in and around frozen Minnesota. All of these tales mysteriously lead back one way or another to Fargo, North Dakota," The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) states on its website, summarizing the show.

Seasons one through four of Fargo are currently streaming on Hulu. Previous seasons of the series were also shot in Alberta.

But the Alberta-filmed series isn't the only critically acclaimed series making its return to streaming services. Epix's Billy the Kid is back on October 15, with its second season.

The Alberta chapter of the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) lists several more projects that are being filmed in the province, though several have been paused due to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike.

Currently, there are six films and/or series that are listed on ACTRA's website as being filmed in Alberta.
